Last week, G-Force Recruitment said thank-you to a number of its ‘Host Employers’ for their long term and continued commitment of the Apprenticeship & Traineeship program.
Employers were invited to attend an evening at Barwon Edge in recognition of their valued support, with each ‘Host Employer’ receiving a commemorative plaque to mark their contribution.
The evening provided G-Force Chief Executive Michael O’Brien the opportunity to personally thank those that have given hundreds of young people a chance of starting a career in the Geelong Region in recent years.
Having been in business for over 25 years, G-Force has seen thousands of young Apprentices & Trainees continue to develop the skills they have learned during their Apprenticeship/Traineeship to progress into senior roles within those host organisations, or begin their own businesses.
Hosted out to companies ranging from multi-nationals to small, locally ran and operated businesses, G-Force remain the legal employer of the Apprentices & Trainees, taking care of all associated paperwork and superannuation responsibilities, allowing the ‘Host Employers’ to focus on running the day-to-day operational duties of their business, and provide the Apprentices & trainees with on-the-job training and support.
The evening also included a key note speech from United Way’s Adam Charleston. Mr Charleston spoke about the importance of partnerships, especially in a small-medium sized economy such as Geelong. Going back to the beginning of United Way, Mr Charleston outlined how partnerships within the community helped United Way become what it is today. He also emphasized that the partnerships between G-Force and their ‘Host employers’ are just as important for both parties in furthering Geelong’s economy and addressing the current skills shortage the country is experiencing.
G-Force’s Senior Operations Manager Robert Birch said, “These awards are an acknowledgement of the partnerships we have built within local industry over many years, providing positive outcomes for all involved.”
Without the support of many local Geelong companies, G-Force would not be able to provide the service it does, with the success that it does.
